We have a tailored day plan for each class to cover all their physical, cognitive, social-emotional and playing needs.
Starfish Lane Kids opening hours are from 7:00 to 2:30pm however we do offer extended hours.
Our Early Birds starts from 6:30am and our Late Pick Up starts from 2.30 and finishes at 4:00pm.
Starfish Lane kids children can begin their day as early as 6:30am. They can come in and enjoy their healthy breakfast with the other little Early Birds. The children are also free to explore and decide which activity they would like to do from some of the amazing activities set out for them. Sensory Play to Construction Play. The choices are endless.
After an early morning play our children wash up before sitting down for their healthy breakfast. After everyone has full bellies they are ready to begin their day.
The teacher will talk about the weekly theme, name recognition, greet their friends, sing interactive, playful action songs, talk about what day is today and how is the weather.
Feeding times vary for all classrooms depending on the routine of the class however all children will sit together and enjoy their scrumptious food. Starfish Lane kids encourages independent skills and teaches the children self-help skills while allowing them to make their own decisions about what to eat from their lunch box. We encourage the children to open their own bags retrieve their lunchbox and put it away again when they are finished. Their water bottles are always kept at child level so that they can reach them at any point during the day.
We want our Koala babies and toddlers well rested and in a calm, alert and active stage for optimal growing and learning.
Living in the Middle-East brings some sizzling summer temperatures, which forces us indoors. We “Beat the Heat” with our air-conditioned “Starfish Cove”. A spacious, indoor playground across all our branches and utilise this amazing space for children to take part in, Zumbini, Yoga and Gecko Active classes as well as allowing them to have the freedom to explore and stay active with our fantastic Starfish Cove equipment.
Throughout the day, the children learn by playing, exploring and creating. All our toys in the classrooms have a purpose. Threading to develop fine motors skills, sorting by colour, size and shape to develop math skills and building tall towers with blocks so they can have fun knocking them over to develop gross motor skills. They can relax in our story corner where they can read a favourite book or enjoy some role-play activities where they can pretend to be anything they want.
During the cooler months, our classes will spend a lot of time in the great outdoors where they can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. With a variety of different fantastic outdoor equipment to choose from our children are always having fun and building on their physical development. Homegrown Gardening is very popular amongst our children. Having the opportunity to go outside again in the afternoon to explore in their gardening boxes, water their plants and herbs and continue to watch them grow, do some weeding and harvesting.
